Why we created Unlocked Sicily
Sicily is not only beautiful — it’s deeply human. It’s made of small towns, warm hospitality, and people who still cook, farm and live like they did generations ago.
In 2017, our love for Sicily pushed us to start a personal project: we explored the island beyond the tourist routes, discovering hidden places and sharing them through photos and videos in a project called IdentyTrip.
During that journey, we experienced something unforgettable: in the smallest villages, far from the famous destinations, locals welcomed us with open arms — like family.
That’s when we understood what real Sicily truly is.
Today, through Unlocked Sicily, we want to offer that same feeling to our guests: we metaphorically give you the keys to our Sicily.
Our hometowns: Linguaglossa & Randazzo
Unlocked Sicily is deeply connected to the places we call HOME.
We live in Linguaglossa ( the Barbara’s village), one of the most charming villages near Taormina, on the slopes of Mount Etna.
Chris was born and raised in Randazzo, a medieval town full of history and authentic local life. That’s why many of our tours happen in this area:
it’s where we grew up, where we know people by name, and where Sicily still feels real.
